Find your life mission
How do you discover your personal mission in life?
For most people, their personal life mission is a mystery. Only very few know clearly what their life mission is, or in other words, what their purpose in life is.
Most people are not only unaware of their mission, but also do not bother with this question. They let themselves be carried away by their lives, trying to be as happy as possible. Every now and then they may have a flash of thought about their mission, whether incidentally or by an intuitive attraction to certain things and not to others.
If you have reached this website, you are probably a person who is looking for meaning, for whom awareness and free choice are part of your agenda and who wishes to find your personal mission.
Before anything else, there are two important statements about the concept mission which I want to clear:
One does not have to realize one's mission in life.
Even though a mission is defined as one's purpose in this world, one is still free to choose. One of the most important rules of our world is the law of free choice: "Everything is predetermined, but freedom of will is given". You may choose not to realize your mission (whether you know what it is or not!).
A mission does not have to be "important" or "significant".
A mission can be realized in all kinds of frameworks, both small and large. A mission should not be defined as "important" or "meaningful" in a judgmental manner. A mission can be small, modest and even "not meaningful" to other people but the person himself.
Why is it worthwhile to discover one's personal life mission?
A mission fulfills the need of the soul. A person who knows his mission and leads his life to fulfill it - becomes a happy person.
Let's set out together on a spiritual journey to find your personal life mission.
You sit comfortably on a chair, inhale deeply and then you enter into the world of imagination:
You are walking on a path that brings you to your mission. There is nothing around you but emptiness, a desert scenery, sand and rocks. Moonlight illuminates your path, the path to your mission in life. When the journey is over, you will know what your mission is.
Look, in front of you, in complete silence, a marble temple arises. You see everything clearly and the temple is breathtakingly beautiful. The temple opens its door for you and you enter. Inside, 7 figures are waiting for you, clad in light blue robes.
This is the temple where your physical skills are examined: your body, its present condition and its potential. Some examinations are short, others are long, and sometimes they are unpleasant. After the examinations are done, a door opens at the other end of the temple and you return to the path that leads you to a second temple.
In front of you is a temple built of glass and crystal, and you enter it. Five figures clad in purple robes will now examine your emotional state, all your affective contexts. Here, in this second temple, all your relationships will be scrutinized and also your mental strength, emotions pent up inside of you and feelings you are unable to feel. After all these examinations and tests, the purple figures will move aside, a door will open at the other end and you will be back again on the path leading you to yet another temple.
The third temple is entirely made of clear crystal. Inside, three figures clad in snow white robes are awaiting you. They will check your cognitive skills and to what extent you use your talents, your analytic skills and your mental power in your life. These tests are not simple. When the tests are over, the white figures will move aside. Another door opens at the other end of the temple and you are back on the path leading to the fourth temple.
This is a temple made of pure light. It is made of illuminated energy in all colors of the rainbow. A door opens and you enter. There is one figure waiting for you, a figure of light, looking at you in silence. It inspects the energy levels of your inner being, your cognition, awareness and dreams in order to discover what you have to offer on your path of life in the future. The figure is looking into your secret world, into corners you yourself hesitate to inspect. And when the process is over, the figure slowly vanishes and a fence opens to the path that moves toward you, leading you to your mission, to your purpose in life which was outlined during the process you underwent in these four temples.
The path has led you to unveil and discover your mission and live the rest of your life along the lines of your mission...
Hi, wake up!!! This does not happen!!! It doesn't work like that!!!
OK, now that you have passed your "celestial psychometric exam" let's return to earth. Most people have a very romantic and mysterious perception of a life mission. It is the concept that your destiny will "come to you", will show up in your life, if at all, that it is something enigmatic that is not revealed to everyone, only to special people.
No way!
Mission is a matter of choice. Everyone chooses his mission!!!!!!!!!!
How?
The mission of a person will always be connected to things he/she is good at and loves. Therefore, the first step you have to make to discover your mission is to answer the following questions:
- What do you like to do?
- What makes you most happy?
- What are your strengths?
- What are your hobbies?
- If you have all the money in the world, what would you do with your time?
- Mention 10 of the most meaningful things that happened to you in your life. What is the common denominator you can discover in these things? What do they represent?
After you answer these questions you will certainly find a correlation between the answers. Something that can bring you at least one step closer to your mission, that will give you at least some idea about the area of your mission.
"It is not good that the man should be alone"
For most people, the meaning and purpose of life is connected to other people. Relationships are everything!
I would like to offer you here a view of your mission as caring and doing for others. And these others may encompass your entire family or just one person. These others may also encompass all the people in your country, or all the poor people of Africa, etc.
According to the law of cause and effect - the law of the boomerang - the reward is always in direct relation to the investment. Therefore, the reward of a person doing for others will be bigger than the reward for a person who is doing for himself only. Success tastes better if you can share it with others.
I already said that one may also choose not to fulfill one's mission. One may choose to live a life revolving around oneself only, without needing any reward. That is OK. As said, the reward will be proportional to the investment, and no one should judge if another person is happy or not, except the person himself. And if he is happy with his fate, everything is fine.
Very often there is a link between the search after a mission, a person's age and the path taken by him. Many people, after they built their home and succeeded in gaining a status and gathering money, find themselves wondering: where do I go from here? Should I make more money? Will that make me happier? At this point of life the question of mission arises. Young persons are mainly busy building the foundations of their economic and personal security and starting a family, and are less concerned with questions of mission.
I wish to put before you six ways of being of service and sharing, six ways representing an approach, a state of awareness, from which you can choose your mission - the way of expression that fits you best, that suits your skills or talents, that satisfies you best. Each one of these missions has many paths, short or long ones, easy or difficult ones, straight or curved ones. You yourself must determine the most practical way for you to realize your mission. Therefore, although there are six main ways, the way of every one of us is unique.
Six ways of sharing by which you can reach a feeling of self-fulfillment are:
- Leadership
- War
- Creativity
- Healing
- Calling
- Teaching and studying
On this path you don't need to be tested.
You don't need to be "spiritual".
You only have to discover what would satisfy you now, what fits you, and set out on your journey. And if at any time in the middle of the way you are no longer satisfied with the journey you chose, you can always choose another path!!!
